Having observed many classes in Los Angeles, it has become apparent to me that voice is most often missing, yet imperative to your training. It is the command of your voice, rooted in the integration of body, mind, senses, and emotional content through the catalyst of focused breathing, that is key to making an audience sit up and listen. You can want to act with all the desire you can muster, but without honing your vocal instrument, you may still be opaque. In film, you're mostly in close-up. The spoken word is your primary currency in all acting media. Ultimately, your task is to move an audience emotionally. A common belief that so many actors cherish is that moving and speaking as they do in their everyday lives is enough. Film and television demand a heightened reality, and so the words you speak must be charged with the engine of emotional content. There is a primal physicality and power in this, and the very source of your voice. It is my desire to give you a technique that is innovative, clear, and readily applicable to your acting. Voice is best taught privately and semi-privately.
